Good Thesis Statement Embryonic Stem Cell Research

[tags: Stem cell, Embryonic stem cell] - Introduction The term stem cell is a broad term that when spoken often comes along with positive language such as untapped potential, therapeutic treatment, and self-revival.However, this same term when spoken also comes along with alarming language such as ethically questionable, widely unproven, and even in-humane.One of the main characteristics of stem cells is their ability to self-renew or multiply while maintaining the potential to develop into other types of cells.

Coming from a Catholic school background, stem cells were always lumped at the end of the chapter with abortion, contraceptives, and other awful things that “went against God’s plan.” I didn’t know what they were or why we really used them, but already had a negative connotation about them.

So, taking a neutral stance, I wanted to see what the world was saying today about this important research field....

Before humans are created we start as cells, known as embryos.

Because this isn’t considered life yet, we are just clumps of cells....

There are different sources of stem cells but all types of stem cells have the same capacity to develop into multiple types of cells....
