Apply for a Distinguished Artist Award in Creative Writing This award may be used for up to two semesters of off-campus study at programs approved by Hope College (this includes both international and domestic programs). This scholarship, in combination with other resources (such as scholarships, grants, Veterans Benefits or employer-provided tuition benefits), may not exceed your Cost of Attendance (as determined by the college) for any given award year.If you lose your scholarship for any semester(s) due to such circumstances as a non-qualifying GPA, resources exceeding Cost of Attendance, a third semester of off-campus study or temporary enrollment at another institution, these semesters of eligibility are forfeited and not available for use at a later time.Please notify Judy Le Roux in Creative Writing if you'd like to be considered for this award.

the award is based on demonstrated talent in creative writing, academic standing, and, between applicants of equal rank in the foregoing criteria, financial need.

Full-time Sophomore and Junior English Majors only may apply.

The award is based on financial need and the submission of a sample of creative writing.

Priority will be given to students in good academic standing and students MUST be eligible for financial aid. Submissions should include 2 collated and clipped copies (4 copies if applying for the Milliman or the Draham) of the following materials: 1) Cover Sheet (please email: [email protected] a copy of the cover sheet) 2) Current unofficial UW transcript 3) Biographical statement, including a brief description of financial need. 4) Creative Writing Sample-Note that some awards have specific requirements.

2019 Emma Aylor (graduate) and Julia Powers (undergraduate) 2018: Emma Aylor (Graduate) and Mickee Cheung (Undergraduate) Any graduate or undergraduate student who is preparing for a career in creative writing or in the teaching of creative writing, who is currently enrolled at the University of Washington, and who will be enrolled in the following academic year may apply.

Must have completed at least two years of college-level work.

Should you earn your degree in less than eight semesters, you are no longer eligible to receive this award.
